When in 1893 the cement factory on the site of today’s ‘Fabrka’ began to operate, the chalk used in cement production was dug not far from there. After the cement factory was closed, the basin, with its fresh inflow from the creek, became a popular bathing spot for locals. Today, the lake in the heart of a forest is a sightseeing and resting spot.
The lake is located along the Mojstrana - Peričnik footpath. You can reach it by following footpath 16 along the right bank of the Bistrica River, then continuing uphill on footpath 15 from the marker post in the forest. This is the turn to the lake, where a marker on a pillar invites you to join route 16 to Peričnik or return along the same route.
