Mojstrana–Vrtaška planina: 2 h, Vrtaška planina–Sleme: 2 h 15 min
From Vrtaška planina, the path continues past the shepherd's hut across the meadow and then turns sharply to the left and passes into the forest. The path through the forest climbs moderately and after a 20-minute walk from the mountain leads us to a larger clearing (Stare koče). The path then returns to the forest, which is becoming increasingly sparse. Relatively easy, it eventually leads us to a viewpoint from which a beautiful view opens up. With a slight crossing, we reach a large grassy slope (Njivce) below Vrtaški vrh. A little higher, the path passes from the grassy slopes into the forest belt and begins to climb steeper. From the moderately steep path, which is surrounded by a belt of rare larch forest, we have a view towards Sleme (2,077 m). The path then climbs steeper again and brings us to the ridge, where we see Špik and Kukovo špica in front of us, and after 10 minutes of further walking, it leads to a scenic peak.
