A forest road, 3 km long, leads to Kot, with Lengarjev rovt at the end of the valley, at an altitude of 1,000 m above sea level.
There is no mountain outpost in Kot, the only shelter hikers can use is the hay loft at Lengarjev rovt. Lengarjev rovt is a bumpy meadow with a beautiful abundance of yellow globeflowers. The upper gable part of the glacially transformed valley is dominated by the faces of Rjavina (2,532 m), Luknja peč (2,245 m) and Vrbanova špica (2,408 m). A little further on from Lengarjev rovt there is a hunting trail to the left, leading to Požar (1,543 m) on the ridge of Črna gora. The path is unmarked.
The road to Kot is a pleasant walking trail, attractive even in winter because it is not snow - ploughed, and it offers plenty of tranquility and beautiful scenery. At the turn-off of the asphalt road to the Kot Valley is Kosmačev Preval, and the starting point for Črna gora (1,378 m) off to the left. This is also a hunting trail and therefore unmarked.
